New New New Fun Fun Fun

Hey everyone! It’s my bi-yearly blog post!

I know, I know: I AM THE WORST.

I’ve been super busy touring as part of the band Ages and Ages, and I can say with confidence that I am now pretty much an expert in sleeping in a van, working out in gas stations, and eating take-out.TOURLIFE!

Anyway, I’m still really busy with these guys, so check out the dates section and come see us in your city! It’ll be a good time, I promise.

As for my own music, I’ve got some neat projects on the horizon.

First up: Cover Song September. I’m going to be recording a video of another artist’s song every day in September, and getting friends to back me up an collaborate as well. So, if you’ve got a song you’ve wanted to hear me play, send your requests to and I’ll do my best 🙂

More stuff on the horizon, but for now make sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I’ve got lots of stories and pictures from my travels, and I’d love to connect with you there!

Touring with Ages and Ages

Hello friends!
I know I’ve been off the technological grid for awhile, my apologies. I went to Costa Rica for my annual (albeit now much shorter) winter trip, got to see my surf family at Pura Vida Adventures and ride some awesome warm-water waves, and now I’m gearing up for about 3 months of touring with a band I’ve been honored to join, Ages and Ages.

We’ve got some exciting things on the horizon: a tour in Europe for the next two weeks, then releasing our album here in PDX, followed by West Coast tour, then SXSW festival in Austin, then…well, then a lot more places.

You can see the dates in my tours section, or over at This band is something I’m really proud to be a part of. I love the music, and I love the people making the music, and I would LOVE it if you would join us at a show in your city and check it out! I think you’ll love it, too.

And to test that theory, watch the video for our first single “Do the Right Thing” from the upcoming album Divisionary!

East Coast Tour and a Video

I’m excited to let y’all know that I’ve decided to use “y’all” on a regular basis instead of “you all.” Wait…that’s not why I’m writing this blog…

Oh yeah! Guess what? I’m coming on tour to the East Coast! I’ll be playing DC, Baltimore, DC again, Philly, and New York. All of these places have a special place in my heart, including all of the people I have met/hope to meet there, so please check out the SHOWS section and do come to one…and bring friends! The more the merrier on this Annie Bethancourt train of folk.

To wet your whistle a little bit for the new songs I’ll be bringing through town, here’s a brand spankin’ new tune I wrote about a dude. He ended up not giving me the time of day (that’s another song entirely), but at least I got this song out of it and was able to play it a lovely friend’s wedding. LOVE IS REAL, PEOPLE!

As always, feel free to share, tweet, Facebook, smoke signal this video, and the songs I’ve got up at BANDCAMP. You guys are my manager, PR, and record label rolled into one big ball of awesome, and your support and hype would mean the world to me.

Update: Annie is Alive

Hello friends!

I’m so sorry that I have been super lax about updating here. I finally released Skeleton Bones, played a huge release show at the Doug Fir with my lovely friend Hannah Glavor, and since then have been laying low, sending out the discs to Kickstarter contributors, and all-around plotting my next year of musical adventures.

I just wanted to give you some quick tidbits:

1) I am currently booking an East Coast tour around Thanksgiving (end of November, beginning of December) so if you or someone you know would like to host an Annie Bethancourt house show, please e-mail! House shows are a super fun, mellow time of music in an intimate space.

2) The album is now digital! If you’d like to buy it, I recommend BANDCAMP. (But, it’s also available on I-TUNES)

3) Lastly, here’s a video of my friend Jonah Sissoyev and I singing a slow-jam R&B song from the 90’s, because WHY NOT.

Skeleton Bones Update

Hey Friends,

Just wanted to keep you up-to-date on the new album, Skeleton Bones, that will be released SOON. Unfortunately, my super talented producer Dallas Kruse came down with Mono (in other news, every girl who wants to lose 10 pound now hates him), so we’re having to play it by ear and make sure he takes care of himself and gets healthy!

We’re about 80% done with the album, and you can listen to some of the tracks we’re working on by checking out the Kickstarter page.

Thanks for all your love and support!
